The GREAT Room
My son calls it..."the BIG room". This is the addition my husband and father-in-law built onto our home. The 20 x 40 addition provides a living room, computer room and a HUGE workshop in the walk out basement. I just love the new space and I decorate for every season. Keep watching for more pictures and decorating ideas.

I have different screens for every season. The awesome lantern is a gift from my friend Wendy...can't wait to get it outside for the summer.

Flowers on the deck
I searched for planters for the deck and couldn't find anything prim. I looked around the house and barn and came up with this prim perfect display. They are filling in beautifully!

Other corner of the deck
Love the prim planters! I used old wooden crates to lift the different size wash tubs to different heights. The big rusty milk can is overflowing with FLOWERS!! Inside the box is a terra cotta pot with an herb. The flowers love it!

THE BIG BIRDHOUSE
Here is the latest birdhouse my hubby made for me. It is HUGE! He mounted it to a porch post we salvaged from an old farmhouse that was being torn down in Missouri. The birds have been deciding which home they want to live in....it's a tough choice with all the houses they have to choose from. The BIG lantern is from my friend Wendy, I finally got it outside to enjoy the tealights in it at night. BE SURE TO GO TO THE NEXT PAGE OF PICTURES....

Welcome to our prim home!
In the front of the house I set up an old table to which I found a sign that says bulbs to put on an old chair. I also made a sign that says "Otter Creek Primitives" along with one of the birdhouses my husband made. An OLD weathervane sits on the table and a bucket that was made into a continuous running faucet. I went with red geraniums around to the side of the house. The dinner bell is from my parents. My mom rang the bell to call all the kids to dinner, we could hear it no matter where we were (now I use it...lol)

RED GERANIUMS!!
Here are the geraniums going down the side of the house. Eventually I'm going to make my own black distressed shutters for the house with a prim star in the center of each shutter....any volunteers to help, only 10 windows to do :o)

Front flower bed
In the front I have some pebble stepping stones lined with purple iris and red geraniums. Among them are some fancy hostas, lantana, daffodils, dianthus, artimesia, coreopsis, day lillies and many other flowers.

RELAX!!
Another picture from the front of the house. My husband dumpster dived for these icecream chairs for me. They didn't have a seat so my dad made me a seat and I covered them with an old cutter quilt...found a table, basket of flowers, a lantern and a cast iron tea pot and put it all together. Next I'm going to plant a bunch of fancy hostas and have a beautiful hosta garden under the pine tree which I just trimmed up 5 feet from the ground. The 2009 winning hosta "Earth Angel" is among the wonderful hostas!

Come around back!
Taking you around back I put in a pebble stepping stone walkway to one of the deck steps and I had the kids pick out rocks to line the walkway with. The flowers really color the way. There is also a start of a varigated iris (cross your fingers it survives our winter) from my mom and a variety of hostas, columbine, sedum, day lillies and the common orange ditch lillies that came with the house...probably as old as the house too! I've started moving them down along the farm fence line for some color there.

The Outhouse!
My husband built me a lifesize outhouse...not usable ofcourse but definately a conversation piece! I surrounded it with ditch lillies and some hostas...a rusty 'ole lantern too!

Breathtaking view from the deck!
There isn't anything more peaceful than sitting on the deck. Looking over into the stream with the water flowing into the ponds, I sit and have my morning coffee and watch the birds take their morning baths. The hills along the back of the land have deer that walk about, turkeys, pheasants and even an occasional coyote. The flowers have really filled in since this picture was taken. The talented hubby made this arbor out of old doors. I have clematis growing on each side, eventually it will cover it in flowers!
